Residential Life Team

Our Residential Life Team are here to support you during your time in halls. In each hall there is a Senior Resident Tutor (SRT) who will be your point of contact. From Social Events to Safety Advice the team are hear to help you.

Welfare Arrangements for Students Required to Self-Isolate

Welfare Checks

During the period of isolation, a member of University staff from the Covid Support Team will be in regular contact with you by phone or email. If you have any concerns, please advise the member of staff and you will then be signposted to the other University services.

Please remember that the Residential Life team are still on campus to support you. Please contact your SRT with any residential life questions or concerns. The SRTs are on duty every evening and can speak to you on the phone. Please look at your hall Facebook page for ongoing events and other information.

Food Orders, Takeaways and Deliveries (University supplied)

The Eat at Hope App

Whether you are looking to get your shopping delivered or a pizza dropped off at the door to your campus halls of residence flat, you can now place orders for delivery using the new Eat at Hope app.

Resident Hope Park students can choose from the full Our Place menu; Resident Creative Campus students can choose from an exciting new lunch and evening meal selection from Café 1846; and All resident students can choose from a long list of chilled, frozen and grocery items from the Shop.

Simply add your order to the basket, select a delivery slot, fill in your details and check out. (You must have an L16 9JD postcode for Our Place & Shop deliveries and an L6 1HP postcode for Café 1846 deliveries.) Once your order has been prepared, someone from the Eat at Hope team will deliver your food and drink directly to your office or to the door of your campus halls of residence flat.


Hot food items from Our Place & Café 1846 cannot be delivered to Aigburth Park at the moment.

Click & Collect from Our Place, the Shop or Café 1846

In a rush? Looking to pick up your groceries or a treat after a lecture or on your way home? You can now click & collect using the new Eat at Hope app. Simply add your order to the basket, choose a collection time, fill in your details and check out. Your order will be ready and waiting when you come to collect it.

Save our web app to your phone

  1. Scan the QR code to open the Eat at Hope web app in your phone’s browser
  2. Step 2 – Select the ‘more’ icon at the bottom (Apple) or top right (Android) of your screen
  3. Step 3 – Select ‘Add to Home Screen’
  4. Step 4 – A link to the Eat at Hope web app should now appear on your home screen

A note on cashless card payments
The new Eat at Hope app accepts University cashless card payments, alongside credit and debit cards. In order to pay using your cashless card, you will need to confirm your date of birth. If you are experiencing any difficulties your cashless card online, please email catering@hope.ac.uk with your name, phone number, four-digit cashless card number, and your date of birth to get it updated to work with the new ordering system.


Grocery delivery to self-isolating students to Creative Campus and Aigburth Park


If you have to self-isolate for any length of time, and are struggling to secure a supermarket delivery, we will
deliver to you! If you have to self-isolate at Creative Campus or Aigburth Park, you will be able to take advantage of a same
day delivery (Mon-Fri) from the Campus Shop to ensure you have all the grocery items you need.

Simply place your order before 3pm each weekday for same day delivery, weekend orders will be next day
deliveries.

To place your grocery order, add the items you want to your basket and select delivery. The app will prompt you to fill out your postcode. You must use the L16 9JD postcode to proceed. The app will then ask you for your full address details – these should include your individual flat & room number, plus the name of your halls of residence. Someone from the Eat at Hope team will then bag up your order and make a delivery, once a day, to the respective lodge on your campus.

Food Orders, Takeaways and Deliveries (External companies)

You can order grocery deliveries from the local supermarkets and take-aways from UberEats, Deliveroo,AlphaGrab, etc. 

When you order a delivery you must put your address and phone number in the delivery information. You should add a note that the driver must call in to the Security Lodge to be directed to your hall.

Collection of Post

Post will be delivered to isolation flats each day between 4pm and 8pm. If you have ordered an NHS postal test, please contact:

We recommend that you do the test as soon as possible. Please follow the instructions contained within the test kit and once administered simply call the relevant campus phone number to arrange collection the same evening, before 9.00pm. Please await a telephone call before placing your postal test kit out for collection. To keep everyone safe we ask that you wipe the external bag with a disinfectant wipe prior to collection.

Mental Health Support

Student Development and Well-being provide a daily drop-in service, offering brief consultation sessions of around 15-20 minutes. The drop-ins are for students wishing to access counselling, mental health, or learning/disability support, including those who need to speak to a mental well-being practitioner urgently. Due to current social distancing requirements, drop-ins can be accessed via Zoom video call or telephone only.

The well-being drop-in sessions take place from 11am - 2 pm, Monday to Friday (during term-time).

Please note that a limited number of drop-in sessions are available each day and are allocated on a firstcome, first-served basis.

Library Materials

You have access to lots of resources including books, journals, articles, television and radio programmes online through the library web pages

If there is a book that you need that is only available from the library in print you can request a copy using the Request and Collect service.  Search the library catalogue and use the Request option.  Library staff will email you when the book has been retrieved from the shelves. If you respond to the email to let us know you are self isolating and give your room number and hall we can arrange to have the book brought to you.  If you need support you can contact your subject librarian or for general questions email askalibrarian@hope.ac.uk

Waste Collection

The domestic team will provide yellow waste bags to those flats required to self-isolate. Once the bag is full, simply call campus security to log a collection.

Items will be collected between 9-10am the following day. Please await a telephone call before placing your waste bag out for collection. To keep everyone safe we ask that you wipe the external bag with a disinfectant wipe prior to collection.

Laundry Service

Due to Covid  isolation, the University is aware that you are unable to leave your accommodation to go to the Launderette; as such, we have made arrangements with Morris Laundry Services who will collect your laundry and deliver it back to you - the turnaround for laundry services can be up to one week; you will not be charged for this service.

You are allowed one bag of laundry for general washing such as clothes, underwear and bedding (not the actual duvet, only the duvet cover & pillow cases). Please note the service does not include coats or footwear such as trainers.

A slip will be inside the laundry bag which you need to complete with your full contact details along with an itemised list of laundry.

YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS INFORMATION SO THAT YOUR LAUNDRY IS RETURNED TO YOU AT THE CORRECT LOCATION.

The laundry will be collected by Morris' as follows:

  • Hope Park - Tuesday's at 5pm
  • Aigburth - Wednesday's at 5pm
  • Creative Campus - Thursday's at 5pm .

If you wish to access this service please email Cheryl Campbell on campbec1@hope.ac.uk, stating your current hall location and flat number. We will then arrange for a laundry bag to be delivered to your flat in time for the collection as per the details above.
